Microblog 1: Why Are You So Calm?

          The Diary of Anne Frank is based in the context of one of the worst historical events in history, the Holocaust. This is a well-known event, and the setting of my book was set in Amsterdam directly in the main conflict of the event, where Anne was hiding from the German soldiers in the prosecution of the Jews. This creates a very distressing atmosphere, that made her calm attitude very surprising.

Nonfiction Entry 1: Hiding Within a Hideout

          To start off I am finally reading one of the most famous nonfiction books out there, The Diary of a Young Girl  by Anne Frank. I know, I am a bit late to the party, but late is better than never. My initial thoughts were not what I had made it out to be, it was a lot calmer than my predictions, especially based upon the circumstances of which the book was written. Anne Frank has a lot more of a sense of humor than what I thought she would, along with a very high complexity of writing for her age, (even though the diary was edited afterward).           Skipping the introduction, as it really only provides context, and jumping right into the story of the Annex, which is where Anne and her family hid during the war. The people involved have a lot more of a personality then what I thought they would, as they are hiding from potential execution, and Anne Frank knows about this, she mentions it a few times when regarding what ...
